Of course Beethoven had to get in on the action.
The other day we had opened the windows & of course Beethoven got into them immediately because they're his favorite space in the whole house during the summer. He's so cute when he lays half on the bed and half in the window sill checking out everything that's going on outside. I decided to try and take some pictures of him in the window & I couldn't get any of just him so here's what came of it.
The portraits of the President and the First lady have been done & I'm not a art critic but Laura's is horrible. Her head looks like it belongs on another painting & it seems to small to me. The President's portrait looks amazing though. His hands are phenomenal. The other thing I noticed that there's a entire paragraph of people who made donations for his portrait and a husband/wife who made donations for hers. Now maybe the family could afford to pay for hers but I figure they skimped on hers. ;)
In other news my tooth feels better. I've not taken a pain pill for a day but eating is still a chore. I'm still eating soup and hating every bit of it.
Btw beethoven got a twitter account you should follow him ;)
Ciao!!
*Woof! Woof* Howdy my fellow readers I haven't posted in a while and I thought after today's little escapade with Tracy I'd share a few tips. Now granted I'm a whooping 5lbs and I look all cute 'n furry but sometimes I get a little nervous. When people get nervous they fidget, when dogs like I get nervous we can become meanies. I'm very rarely mean but hey it can happen, I am a guy after all! Today Tracy took me out to a parade and then a little while later we went to talk around some craft thing of some sort. After stepping in some gum that about tore my paw off I wasn't a very happy pooch. Then as we're resting a little girl comes up to pet me. Normally it's not such a big deal but today I was hot, tired and a tinsy tiny bit grouchy. I politely backed away to say "Hey yea sorry but not happening today hun." but she didn't get the hint. I ran under Tracy's legs and peaked out to say "Mhmm go away! Shooo!" but again the little girl didn't get it. Finally Tracy had to pick me up and calm me down, plus it let the people know to go away. I don't get bothered near as much when she picks me up as I do when I'm minding my own business on the ground. The girl and her mom left and I let out a huge "Whew that was close" sigh that Tracy completely understood.
Here's a few tips for you when you're in a similar situation:
- Always ask permission to pet me. I could be a biter! You'd never know.
- Crouch down to my level and put the back of your hand out so I can make sure you're okay.
- Don't come rushing at me, I don't know you! that freaks me out!
- If I back off it's my way of saying "No thank you" and you shouldn't continue to try and pet me.
- If you're a parent, you need to be sure your kids are polite to animals, teach them what you know, that way you or your kids don't get bite.
Beethoven
It's the beginning of Spring and therefore mowing season starts. Every year we have to pick up the yard & make sure we can mow it without destroying the rider. Today I decided I'd pick everything up & after making 3 trips to the end of the yard to the stick pile I decided I should have enlisted my sister to help. This year was the worst year to pick up branches around the yard. We had a lot of ice & snow this winter and that just made it ten times worse than normal. Then on top of that I had to pick up trash because Tanya's dog likes to get into the trash and string it all over the yard. I ended up with a bag full of trash that I picked up from the yard. Our yard's only a half acre but it was ridiculous.
Then on my last trip to the stick pile with a tarp full of sticks I rolled my ankle, 3 different times. I have a bad right ankle because of a previous injury so it's extremely sore. I came in immediately and washed off (because I get poison ivy to easily) and put a brace on, but it's swole & throbbing. Hopefully tomorrow it'll be a little better :( One can only hope. I also took some pictures around the yard of the tulips that are blooming and of Beethoven. Here's a few plus some of a flowering tree I took the other day.
Well today's been a memorable St. Paddy's day for sure. We're under flood warnings, winter weather warnings & thunderstorm warnings. It's been raining non stop since 9am and it's not looking to let up anytime soon. I'd planned on going to the parade in the city but with it pouring this morning I didn't even want to attempt that nonsense. We drove around a bit while running errands and the rivers are out of their banks so there'll definitely be places flooded before the nights out. I really like the rain, however I don't like the rain/cold mix. Oh! What's that I hear? Spring a knocking & I'm more than ready!
Beethoven got a new toy the other day, his name is squirrelly & Beethoven <3's him so. I'll post pictures as soon as I get them. We went to PetSmart and I let Beethoven pick a toy and after 4 attempts he choose the squirrel. He played with him in the back seat all the way home & he loves trying to rip his tail hair out.
Here's the culprit.
Beethoven decided Squirrelly didn't belong on my lap...so he took him.
I was teasing him & Beethoven wanted him pretty badly.
He will barely growl at you when you do this ^.
I was trying to distract him so I could nab Squirrely, but he wasn't buying it.
Mine!!!! Mwuahahaha.
But he loves the drying off part!

Here he is right after the bath looking all moopy!

I’m ready to get out now. No I mean NOW this instance or else!!

And I’ll cheese it up for the camera just a little bit. Can we dry off now?

Score! I love wallowing on the towel!

Mhmm definitely my favorite part!

Ghost watching Beethoven and thinking, “What in the world is he doing?” By the way notice how much he’s grown? Eesh!

I’m drying off duh!!

Me & Beethoven after he’s done drying off. He was moving to fast (so was I) the pictured blurred. Now wait until he gets a hair cut later. Uh oh….shhh! Don’t let him know k? K!
